PICK EVERARD, which has had a presence in Manchester for five years, has doubled its number of staff in just 12 months. 

With the North West having been nationally recognised as a region of growth for the property and construction industries, Pick Everard – in line with its 2020 vision – has expanded its team and services across the region.

The leading independent property, construction and infrastructure consultancy has completed a number of standout projects in the North West – including project managing the new MRI scanner facility for the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, the £12 million redevelopment of Workington Leisure Centre and the £24 million Lancashire Constabulary HQ at Blackpool. It is now looking to expand and further strengthen the team based in Manchester.

“The construction industry is thriving in the North West – with new projects regularly being announced that will change the face of the region and really benefitting communities and businesses alike,” said Jon Parry, regional director at Pick Everard.

“We have recently welcomed a raft of new talent – ranging from graduate surveyors to senior project managers – in recognition of our ambitions to grow Pick Everard within the region, but also to support the delivery of an increasing workload here.”

Among Pick Everard’s new starters includes Mark Dando, principal quantity surveyor – who joins the Manchester office with more than 30 years’ experience, having previously worked in the healthcare and heritage sectors.

James Partington also joins the firm as a principal mechanical engineer and also has 20 years’ experience in the industry. He sees this new role as an opportunity to grow the firm’s building services engineering capability in the region as well as create and maintain meaningful relationships with clients.

“We’ve recently secured a number of new projects through key framework appointments so our new starters will be instrumental in delivering these schemes,” added Jon.

The firm has recently been announced as delivering architecture, project management, mechanical and electrical engineering, health and safety and sustainability advice services for the Manchester City council CAPPS (Construction and Property Professional Services) framework; Lancaster University framework; Crown Commercial Services framework and the Scape Built Environment Consultancy Services framework (BECS).

Jon added: “These new appointments enable us to deliver more work and to a wider selection of clients – which is obviously fantastic news for the region as the construction industry builds momentum again after a period of uncertainty.
